After all the whing and complaining we did about the Bush Administration's secrecy and manipulation, there is no way we would do the same. Actually invent something to scare the public into action. No way. That would make us hippocrates.
And....Democrats have never been known to add pork to the budget, have we?

Obama's First Blunder
Everyone knows how funny and stupid it was when President Bush tugged on that locked door in China. What a buffoon we thought. It isn't so funny when our buffoon can't distinguish a door from a window, is it?

Hey Bam, that's not the door!

It looks like President Obama hasn't gotten acquainted to his White House surroundings. On the way back to the Oval Office Tuesday, the President approached a paned window, instead of the actual door -- located a few feet to his right.Doors didn't open automatically for Obama’s predecessor either. While making a hasty exit from a 2005 press conference in Beijing, former President George W. Bush tugged on the handles of a door, only to find it locked.

1st TV Interview
It is good to see that Obama is more concerned about other countries' opinions rather than our own. For his first TV interview, he chose.................Arabic cable TV network Al-Arabiya. That is a much better choice than ABC, isn't it?

As special envoy to the Middle East, George Mitchell heads off to the region to begin work on negotiating a cease fire between Israel and the Palestinians, President Obama has sat for his first formal TV interview with the Arabic cable TV network Al-Arabiya, ABC News has learned.
The interview was taped this evening and is set to air at 11 pm ET, as Mitchell is in the air and on his way to the region.Based in Dubai, Al-Arabiya estimates that it has a potential audience exceeding 23 million in the Gulf region.

Kind Of Surprised at the TV Ratings
I had heard that the inaugeration was the highest viewed event of all-time. I was surprised that it was less watched than the Reagan one. What a shock.

Updated: Will Obama break 1981 Reagan record for inauguration Nielsen ratings? No.
Posted on 20 January 2009 by Robert Seidman
Final Update: The Obama inauguration was watched by 37.8 million, second only to Reagan’s 41.8 million in 1981.Another update: still haven’t seen the viewer numbers but James Hibberd reminded me that a household ratings point is larger today than it was in 1981, so Reagan’s record might not be safe after all. We’ll see!Update: Reagan looks safe, but Obama appears headed for second most-watched inauguration.Ronald Reagan’s inauguration twenty-eight years ago on January 20, 1981 set the inaugural ratings record, averaging almost forty-two million (41,800,260). Will Barack Obama break the record?I was in the nearby Safeway about five minutes after the inauguration ended and it was a barren ghost town. But that’s a bit anecdotal for my tastes. We won’t likely know the results until tomorrow, but in the meanwhile here’s some real data for today, though it is based on Internet rather than television. According to the Silicon Alley Insider based on data from Akamai the early numbers for the inauguration among news web sites was that they saw 5.4 million visitors per minute.Peak total visitors per minute were 5.4 million, making it one of the top five events ever, trailing both the 2008 presidential election (#1 with 8.572 million visitors per minute at peak traffic) as well as the first day of the NCAA college basketball tournament last March (#3 with 7.01 million visitors/minute ).We’ll have to see if Obama can dethrone Reagan as the inaugural Nielsen ratings champ, but in the meanwhile you can see the inauguration numbers back to 1969 via the Nielsen Wire.

Could Gore Be Wrong
We all know that our beloved Al Gore got ripped off in the 2000 presidential election. His defeat has turned him into a Global Warming Guru. Could it be that he has turned into a flim-flam man? We already know that he doen't walk the walk. His mansion uses more electricity than the city. He took a limo 3 block at Cannes Film Festival. Now the true Guru says carbon trading is a governmental sham. But, we all knew that, except Al Gore.

One last chance to save mankind
James Lovelock. But the originator of the Gaia theory, which describes Earth as a self-regulating planet, has a stark view of the future of humanity. He tells Gaia Vince we have one last chance to save ourselves - and it has nothing to do with nuclear power
Your work on atmospheric chlorofluorocarbons led eventually to a global CFC ban that saved us from ozone-layer depletion. Do we have time to do a similar thing with carbon emissions to save ourselves from climate change?
Not a hope in hell. Most of the "green" stuff is verging on a gigantic scam. Carbon trading, with its huge government subsidies, is just what finance and industry wanted. It's not going to do a damn thing about climate change, but it'll make a lot of money for a lot of people and postpone the moment of reckoning. I am not against renewable energy, but to spoil all the decent countryside in the UK with wind farms is driving me mad. It's absolutely unnecessary, and it takes 2500 square kilometres to produce a gigawatt - that's an awful lot of countryside.

Way To Go On Guantanamo
One of the many reasons people did not vote for Obama is because of his passive, appeasement stance on terrorist and Guantanamo Bay Prisoners. He, like many of the Pary of the People, feel it is unhumane and demand the closing of the prison camp. Well, guess who turns out to be the morons in all of this? Yes, it is the Party of the People. Way to go Democratic House, Senate and President. You are going to get us all killed.

WASHINGTON - A terror suspect released from the U.S. prison camp in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, has re-emerged as an al-Qaida commander in Yemen, highlighting the problems facing President Barack Obama in shaping plans to close the prison and decide the fates of the captives.A U.S. counterterror official confirmed Friday that Said Ali al-Shihri, who was jailed in Guantanamo for six years after his capture in Pakistan, has resurfaced as a leader of a Yemeni branch of al-Qaida.

Obama flashes irritation in press room
By JONATHAN MARTIN & CARRIE BUDOFF BROWN 1/22/09 6:43 PM EST Updated: 1/23/09 7:20 AM EST
President Obama made a surprise visit to the White House press corps Thursday night, but got agitated when he was faced with a substantive question. Asked how he could reconcile a strict ban on lobbyists in his administration with a Deputy Defense Secretary nominee who lobbied for Raytheon, Obama interrupted with a knowing smile on his face.
"Ahh, see," he said, "I came down here to visit. See this is what happens. I can't end up visiting with you guys and shaking hands if I'm going to get grilled every time I come down here." Pressed further by the Politico reporter about his Pentagon nominee, William J. Lynn III, Obama turned more serious, putting his hand on the reporter's shoulder and staring him in the eye.

Obama Access Follows Bush
Obama, like all good Democrats, complained about secrecy and access in the Bush administration. You would think he would have the descency to follow through on his promises and not follow suit. Well, we were wrong. Same old hippocracy. I am ashamed of the new Democratic, Pary of the People, if they are going to act like this. If you make a campaign promise, follow through. Don't be a hippicrate.

News access issues concern those covering Obama
Jan 23, 6:51 AM (ET) By DAVID BAUDER
NEW YORK (AP) - News organizations that cover the White House sparred with the Obama administration on Thursday over access issues for photographers and rules for briefings.
Representatives from Obama's press office held a conference call with photo editors, who are concerned that the administration prefers distributing photos taken by a White House photographer in cases where photojournalists have been permitted access in the past. It was unclear whether the two sides had reached any accommodation.
The Associated Press, Reuters and Agence France-Presse refused to distribute photos taken by the White House of the new president on his first day in the Oval Office because of the dispute. Still photographers were also not given access to Obama's do-over oath of office administered Wednesday night by Chief Justice John Roberts and an economics meeting on Thursday.

Former Clintonite Predicts Socialism
Former Clinton advisor doesn't have "Hope" in Obama's America and is predicting socialism by the end. Read his insightful article here.

The Obama presidency: Here comes socialism
By Dick Morris Posted: 01/20/09 06:12 PM [ET]
2009-2010 will rank with 1913-14, 1933-36, 1964-65 and 1981-82 as years that will permanently change our government, politics and lives. Just as the stars were aligned for Wilson, Roosevelt, Johnson and Reagan, they are aligned for Obama. Simply put, we enter his administration as free-enterprise, market-dominated, laissez-faire America. We will shortly become like Germany, France, the United Kingdom, or Sweden — a socialist democracy in which the government dominates the economy, determines private-sector priorities and offers a vastly expanded range of services to many more people at much higher taxes.

Wall Street Responds
Not everyone was pleased with the new Party of Power. The stock market took it biggest drop on inauguration day in its history. That is a nice vote of confidence. Way to go!

What A Start
I remember just 4 years ago how we complained how much Bush spent on the inauguration. Would we scale down when it was our turn? No. Our first showing proves us to be hippocrats. We outspent him during this time of recession. Would it not have been better to spend that money on our favorite issues like healthcare and social security? Oh well.......what a start.

And So It Begins
For 8 years we have complained about Republicans. Now it is our turn to right the world. However, we must be accountable. We must show the world that Democrats are not just blowhards. We must walk the walk like we have talked the talk. This blog will make us accountable for our actions.
